Prayer Requests 4/26/12

The prayer requests from last Thursday's Love in Action meal are below.

This week, we lost a long-time guest and friend, Scott Mullen. He was only 40 years old. Scott was a sweet, gentle spirit, a loving son, and a kind and loyal buddy to many. His body had suffered over the past several years from melanoma and subsequent infections that robbed him of much of his independence. Through all that, Scott continued seeking the Lord and his Word. My prayer is that Scott is now lovingly enfolded in the arms of our Father. We thank God for Scott's life and for his friendship, and pray that he is at peace now and out of pain.

Please also pray for the Mullen family and for Scott's friend and caregiver Brian. Brian stayed with Scott for the past several months and was at his side throughout his last days and hours in the hospital and in hospice. Now, in addition to grieving Scott's death, Brian is back on the street — jobless and homeless.

Whoever wants to embrace life and see the day fill up with good, here's what you do: Say nothing evil or hurtful; Snub evil and cultivate good; run after peace for all you're worth. God looks on all this with approval, listening and responding well to what he's asked; But he turns his back on those who do evil things.
