Here are the prayer requests from tonight's Love in Action feeding.
There were several praise reports from our guests and volunteers tonight. Scott, who just had cancer surgery, was with us tonight and in very good spirits. He told me he was shaving this morning and found himself on his knees in grateful prayer for having a comfortable bed to sleep in and for making it through the surgery with his eye and vision intact. Please continue to keep him in your prayers, as he recovers from the surgery and enters the next phase of his recovery. He repeated how much your prayers mean to him and to his mother as well.
Jamal happily reported he got a room last week. We've been praying for him for a few months, and it's exciting to see God working in his life. A few weeks ago he got his green card and social security card so that he could work. Then he found a few small paying jobs. Now he has a room and is no longer on the streets. His kids, who have been living with their grandmother, have a place to visit him now.
Gary wanted you all to know how much your ongoing prayers have meant to him. He's starting a new experimental chemotherapy tomorrow and is scared. The last set of chemo treatments were unimaginably awful, and Gary said only the visits and prayers of people from our ministry got him through it. In particular, a Bible study with Jon and Pery last Tuesday night gave him a sense of peace as he continues his cancer battle. Please hold Gary very close to your hearts this week.

Prayer Requests 4/23/09
Here are the prayer requests from tonight's Love in Action feeding. Again tonight several people asked me whether we REALLY pray over these needs every day, and one lady even made me promise we do!
It is a great reminder of how much our guests are counting on us. They need to know they and their needs are being lifted up to Him, and they need to know how much they matter to us. Many of them have told me they are praying for us, too.
In prayer, we're all changed from the inside out, and from the outside in.

Please pray for John to have the wisdom to stop hanging with the people he's friends with. Tomorrow he goes back to court.

-- Mindy: Dear God, I have been a faithful servant to you. I am losing my house, not because of things I did, things my boyfriend of many years did (he started using drugs & drinking heavy, now he is paying for his actions – he is going to prison for 2-5 yrs). But in the meantime he is gone with his rent $ and because of his anger he made our roommate move out so no rent $ from him. So on my $607 SSI/SSP check, I can’t pay $1,000 rent, elec., water, & cable. Then my personal bills of storage unit, phone bill, car ins, extended warranty coverage, food (I get no food stamps). My house was just robbed, they took over $2,500 worth of things and my car. I had a little money saved, but trying to get my car out of impound ($350), engine repairs from theft ($217) I am at now, fixing the back window that was broken out when it was stolen ($235), towing from the impound ($137), plus all the things taken from my car and home. So I no longer feel safe living in my home, and the repairs to my car are costing what I paid for the car. I hope God punishes the person or persons that did this to me. And I know God is testing me and my faith to see if I am worthy of his gifts He promises to the faithful. Please God, please make sure while I am homeless, I am safe, I can find a job, get off of probation, see my daughter more, save money, and in a few months be able to be done with my probation and move to Boca or Delray to start my life over. I just need God to watch over & bless me.

Prayer Requests 4/11/09
Please pray for George, his teenage daughter of 17, and his 6-yr-old son. George has been struggling with chemo for lymphatic cancer for 5 months. He and his wife were in real estate, so we can assume times are tough financially, as well. Four weeks ago his wife didn't feel well .... went to the hospital and never came out. She died a few days ago of lymphatic cancer herself. She was 58 (with no known symptoms). What is sadder is the kids were all born here, but all known relatives are in South America and all they have left is their struggling father. After the Lord brought the situation to light (through an altercation between my friend and the daughter), our friends are pulling together and cooking meals, keeping close to the family. Jesus is so amazing. The girl, crying she buried her mother Thursday and no one cares (but no one knew anything was wrong), now is calming down because of all the kindness of strangers. We are all joining together praying for an Easter miracle.
Kevin (from our feedings) is detoxing at Coral Springs Medical and can't believe how good he feels sober for the first time in a long time ....
Rocky (off the streets and sober for 5 yrs because of the Thursday feedings) has asked for prayers for a job so he can stay off the streets. His last one recently closed down.
Gary, of course, is going Tuesday to get his results.
PRAISE REPORT/Answered Prayer: I want to thank Diane for working in communion last Thursday. I was there the first time she brought it for everyone years ago and the effects were so powerful. One girl in particular, V., a crack addict, who had been beat up that day, collapsed into my arms and asked to receive Jesus through the communion. I never saw her again but have gotten reports over the years .... she is off the streets.
I left there one Holy Thursday (with no communion) to go to a mass at a Catholic Church, was late and they sat me right by the altar with the biggest baskets of communion I ever saw. I broke down and could not stop sobbing because I knew our friends needed it more than most and nobody cared. This Holy Thursday they were served (thanks to Diane and all her efforts) and just about everybody was excited and received. Thanks Di - know it was a lot of preparation but it was such an answer to prayer.

Kevin (from our feedings) is detoxing at Coral Springs Medical and can't believe how good he feels sober for the first time in a long time ....
Rocky (off the streets and sober for 5 yrs because of the Thursday feedings) has asked for prayers for a job so he can stay off the streets. His last one recently closed down.
Gary, of course, is going Tuesday to get his results.
PRAISE REPORT/Answered Prayer: I want to thank Diane for working in communion last Thursday. I was there the first time she brought it for everyone years ago and the effects were so powerful. One girl in particular, V., a crack addict, who had been beat up that day, collapsed into my arms and asked to receive Jesus through the communion. I never saw her again but have gotten reports over the years .... she is off the streets.
I left there one Holy Thursday (with no communion) to go to a mass at a Catholic Church, was late and they sat me right by the altar with the biggest baskets of communion I ever saw. Prayer Requests 4/9/09
Good evening, Love in Action Prayer Partners. We have the pleasure of lifting up the following prayer requests from this evening's guests. I thank God for each one of you and for your commitment to those that we serve.

Prayer Requests 4/2/09

-- Daniel: I need some prayer for me, I'm a very big man and can never find any clothes. No one thinks about the fat men.

-- Karen: Dear God, grant me serenity; to be a blessing to my loved ones, and to love those who may not find me pleasing. A prayer request for my niece and her twin babies, but I know it's not my will, but GOD'S! Please keep me and family in your prayers and your hearts. With much love!

-- For my daughter and her daughter Avelina K., and she is pregnant again expecting a baby boy. Pray for her to have a healthy pregnancy, and I have faith in my God, and she have a happy child.
-- Please pray for Mindy that she get to go to her daughter's 3rd birthday. I got cheated out of her 2nd birthday. The state removed her from my custody. 15 months I have tried to do everything they have asked but I had an awful case worker that did not want me to have my child back and did everything in her power to make sure I did not do what I was ordered to do, but she was not giving me the referrals or writing that. When I saw my daughter she always put a bad report because SHE did not want me to have my child. She did this for 1 year, now I have a new case worker and all she knows is what is in the files. I went to court and found out they are going to terminate my rights and put her up for adoption. Please God do not take my ONLY child from me when I have been trying SO HARD!
