-- Gary's cancer has progressed and he is now receiving hospice care. Tonight he told me he's in the terrible position of choosing between being in extreme pain or dealing with the side effects of the pain meds, including debilitating nausea. He said he's only expected to live another week or two. He asked for us to pray for peace for him. He feels he'll soon be in God's arms and is not afraid. He just wants comfort and relief.
-- Amish needs a job. He has never been down this low, and after a lifetime of taking care of other people, he is now homeless these last 2 months and not even able to care for himself. He has been walking and riding all over the county looking for work. He can cook just about anything, and just needs an opportunity. Please pray the Lord will open a door or two for him, and that He blesses Amish with patience and perseverance until that time.
-- Jennifer’s mother recently passed away, and she's having a hard time dealing with it. On top of that, her daughter Brianna is going through a tough time, as well. Please pray that Jennifer keeps her wits about her as she struggles to deal with grief and raises a child.
-- D: I came to know God's direction in my life.

Prayer Requests 5/21/09
Here are the prayer requests from last night's Love in Action feeding.
On this Memorial Day, as you pause to pray for those who have died for our freedoms, please also pray for anyone who has sacrificed in the service of our country. Many of those we feed have served us first by serving in the armed forces. In some cases, the scars they carry are not only physical, but mental, emotional, and psychological. All veterans are deserving of our gratitude and our ongoing prayers.

Prayer Requests 4/30/09
Here are the prayer requests from tonight's Love in Action feeding.
There were several praise reports from our guests and volunteers tonight. Scott, who just had cancer surgery, was with us tonight and in very good spirits. He told me he was shaving this morning and found himself on his knees in grateful prayer for having a comfortable bed to sleep in and for making it through the surgery with his eye and vision intact. Please continue to keep him in your prayers, as he recovers from the surgery and enters the next phase of his recovery. He repeated how much your prayers mean to him and to his mother as well.
Jamal happily reported he got a room last week. We've been praying for him for a few months, and it's exciting to see God working in his life. A few weeks ago he got his green card and social security card so that he could work. Then he found a few small paying jobs. Now he has a room and is no longer on the streets. His kids, who have been living with their grandmother, have a place to visit him now.
Gary wanted you all to know how much your ongoing prayers have meant to him. He's starting a new experimental chemotherapy tomorrow and is scared. The last set of chemo treatments were unimaginably awful, and Gary said only the visits and prayers of people from our ministry got him through it. In particular, a Bible study with Jon and Pery last Tuesday night gave him a sense of peace as he continues his cancer battle. Please hold Gary very close to your hearts this week.

Prayer Requests 4/23/09
Here are the prayer requests from tonight's Love in Action feeding. Again tonight several people asked me whether we REALLY pray over these needs every day, and one lady even made me promise we do!
It is a great reminder of how much our guests are counting on us. They need to know they and their needs are being lifted up to Him, and they need to know how much they matter to us. Many of them have told me they are praying for us, too.
In prayer, we're all changed from the inside out, and from the outside in.

Please pray for John to have the wisdom to stop hanging with the people he's friends with. Tomorrow he goes back to court.

-- Mindy: Dear God, I have been a faithful servant to you. I am losing my house, not because of things I did, things my boyfriend of many years did (he started using drugs & drinking heavy, now he is paying for his actions – he is going to prison for 2-5 yrs). But in the meantime he is gone with his rent $ and because of his anger he made our roommate move out so no rent $ from him. So on my $607 SSI/SSP check, I can’t pay $1,000 rent, elec., water, & cable. Then my personal bills of storage unit, phone bill, car ins, extended warranty coverage, food (I get no food stamps). My house was just robbed, they took over $2,500 worth of things and my car. I had a little money saved, but trying to get my car out of impound ($350), engine repairs from theft ($217) I am at now, fixing the back window that was broken out when it was stolen ($235), towing from the impound ($137), plus all the things taken from my car and home. So I no longer feel safe living in my home, and the repairs to my car are costing what I paid for the car. I hope God punishes the person or persons that did this to me. And I know God is testing me and my faith to see if I am worthy of his gifts He promises to the faithful. Please God, please make sure while I am homeless, I am safe, I can find a job, get off of probation, see my daughter more, save money, and in a few months be able to be done with my probation and move to Boca or Delray to start my life over. I just need God to watch over & bless me.
