Prayer Requests 8/14/14

The prayer requests from this week's Love in Action meal are below.

Some of you may remember Tommy Farley, a great guy and longtime guest of ours who died in June of 2010. His brother Dennis and I have stayed in touch since his passing, and Dennis reminded me that Saturday 8/16 would have been Tommy's birthday. It got me to thinking about all of the brothers, sisters, parents, children, and extended family of our guests, many of whom have no idea where their loved ones are or what they are going through. We always pray for the family members that our guests name in their prayer requests, but today I feel called to pray even more deliberately for the families of all those this ministry serves. 

Sadly, this week also marks the 4th anniversary of the unsolved killing of our friend and fellow volunteer Dave Montney. Please hold his family and friends in your prayers this week as they mark this difficult and terrible milestone. Let's thank God for Dave's life and service, which was born out of his faith.

Please pray with me for the mending of broken relationships, for true contrition and genuine forgiveness for terrible damages done, for grace and mercy for all, and for the new life and new hope that comes from our perpetual rebirth and renewal in Christ.

-- Pray for more jobs, love, understanding, peace, happiness, mercy, school, court case, trial. Please Lord, help me get a job and home. Pray that I beat court.

-- Pray for deliverance from those trying to hinder God's blessings for me. Please pray for financial breakthrough, Love in Action, protection - it's not nice being followed and them trying to rob me. Pray for family, Randy, Stephen and Claudette.
-- Billie M.: Dear God, will you help me to live a good life and for you to make me very safe, because my life is not going. And I hope you will save me and keep me in help. Thank you, God.
-- Father, will you please bless me with the grace to locate a deemed livable clean apartment now because I need it now, Father, and you are a now God and when 2 or more are gathered in your name, you are in the midst. I prayed with a guy and his friend who loved you, seen me praying, heard my prayer and they grabbed my hands and started praying with me, asking you to provide me the security deposit and monthly payments towards this house, but I need a Section 8 Housing rental. Now I got the Section 8 Housing program. The landlord who tried to rent to me, took my money and I have nothing to start with but I believe by faith you will provide even now, my miracle money and I know you will give me the favor of God on me for receiving a brand new apartment untainted by the enemy and an immediate rental of a year lease so I can have some stability for once and a place for prayer, just in a safer location than I am now. I'm tired of the crime areas and their condition for me to live in, so if it be your will, Lord, may I have this blessing now with your favor. Thank you for this blessing. Glory to you, Lord, forever and ever, Amen. Bless all the people here with safety and comfort in their heart from the Holy Spirit. Bless Mr. Pery and Mr. Tim with blessing for their families and their lives. Bless them in abundant blessings and travel mercies, Father.

-- For Dave's killer to be found, brought to justice, and made whole. For the police department to continue to give attention and effort to solving the case. This week is the 4-year anniversary of when our fellow Love in Action volunteer Dave Montney was robbed and murdered in his Pompano Beach home. There is video of the person who tried to use his ATM card that night. The case was featured on America's Most Wanted in 2011 but no one has been arrested or charged in Dave's murder. Please pray that this case will not just fall through the cracks.
